History
The story of Paraíso Rainforest and Beach Hotel begins a century ago with the great-grandfather Emilio Morales, who, as a forensic doctor for the Cuyamel Fruit Company, chose the village of El Paraíso—at that time a remote, poor, and untouched village, but one blessed with natural beauty—as his permanent residence. It was there that the patriarch laid the foundation for future generations of Morales families in the area. For a long time, El Paraíso did not experience significant tourism development due to its difficult access, with the exception of the few residents of San Pedro Sula who owned summer homes there and had the patience to travel to them. One of those families was the Morales brothers, Enrique and Roberto, sons of Don Emilio. Always blessed by the abundant water flowing from the mountains, the lands of El Paraíso enjoyed perpetual greenery, where gardens were always in bloom, and fruit and tropical trees sheltered beautiful birds that, to this day, sing symphonies from dawn till dusk.
All this natural beauty did not go unnoticed by Enrique Morales, Don Emilio's youngest son, who saw an opportunity to share it with others. One such opportunity arose when an English professor, with a backpacker's appearance but a vision for development, proposed that European biology students seeking to complete research courses for their doctorates study the forests of the El Paraíso mountains. Upon signing the contract with OpWall, the first stone was laid for what would become the "Paraíso Rainforest and Beach Hotel," which at that time was more of a research center than a hotel. More than 500 students enjoyed the El Paraíso area for 10 years, benefiting from their studies and researching local creatures. When the contract with OpWall expired, the Morales family had the infrastructure to accommodate guests and continue sharing the area's natural beauty. Therefore, the OpWall research center facilities were remodeled and equipped. With over 10 years in operation and the acceptance of our local and international clients, we continue to offer not only exceptional quality in all our products and services, but also the breathtaking beauty of the mountains and the sea. We invite you to enjoy and experience it for yourself.
